Bellingham (Massachusetts) — April 19, 1966 (2200)

Two women saw a cigar-shaped object, with bright, red lights at both ends, flying erratically. It made a whistling sound when moving, was silent when hovering. Minimum distance: 100 m, length, 20 m. The lights began flash- ing and the object went down behind some trees when five planes and a helicopter came over the area, Two of the aircraft circled the location, then flew on. The whistling sound was again heard, but the object was not seen after the departure of the planes. (Personal)
